Chipped pine bark is an attractive and useful ground cover. The brown color is a natural addition to the landscape. It will dress up a garden bed and retain moisture in the soil. It doesn’t blow around, it looks pretty, and stays cool – great solution for decorative beds.
Bark should be installed over landscape fabric at a rate of 1 cubic yard per 80 sq. ft. Large chip bark may show a little fabric at first but if you spread it around by hand you can cover any fabric showing.
please be aware that any size bark mulch will also have some pine wood chips in it.
